Planning chiefs renew green belt pledge as consultation starts on Cambridge Sporting Village
Top Cambridge planners have reiterated their commitment to protecting the green belt as plans for a new sporting village face public scrutiny.
From today residents will be able to comment on the planning applications from Grosvenor for a sporting village and improvements to the Cambs Glass Stadium in Newmarket Road – as well as 520 homes in the Trumpington green belt.
The councils have now gone through all the documents and registered them on their website, so the public can comment on them.
But the councillors responsible for planning on both authorities – Kevin Blencowe in the city, and Robert Turner in South Cambs – greeted the start of the consultation by reaffirming their commitment to protecting Cambridge’s green belt.
