Palmer buys Unilever food for science hub

Palmer Capital and Wrenbridge have bought one of Unilever’s major global research and development bases in a play to build a new science hub.

The pair are expected to pay around £50m for the purchase of Colworth Park near Bedford, where there is currently 350,000 sq ft of office, research and development and warehousing space.

The consumer goods giant has a 13 year lease on around 30,000 sq ft of the space, 35,000 sq ft is let to other companies and around 15,000 sq ft is vacant at present.
